Credits, Billing & Refund Terms

Effective
September 2026
Last updated
September 2026
Version
1.0

These Credits, Billing & Refund Terms supplement the Terms of Service and govern Purchased Credits, the Platform Fee, metering, refunds, taxes, and chargebacks.

1. Credits are service credits

Credits are prepaid, closed-loop service credits usable only for Tarseek services. Credits are not money, legal tender, a bank deposit, a bank account, or cryptocurrency. Credits are not transferable between users and cannot normally be cashed out or withdrawn.

This structure is intended to keep Credits as a prepayment for services rather than a stored-value or money-transmission product.

2. Purchased credits

You may purchase Credits through the checkout Tarseek provides, when checkout is available, using supported payment methods and currencies displayed at purchase. Your Credit balance is denominated as shown in the account dashboard. Failed payments do not add Credits. Tarseek may correct obvious balance errors. Credits may also be applied by Tarseek to an account (for example promotional or manually issued balances).

3. Platform fee

Tarseek charges the platform/service fee displayed at checkout or on the applicable pricing page. The Platform Fee is separate from usable Credits. Example for illustration only: if a customer wants $100.00 of usable Credits and the then-current fee displayed at checkout is applied, the total charged may be higher than $100.00. The percentage may change. These legal documents do not hardcode a permanent fee rate.

4. Payment processing

When you pay through checkout, you pay an external payment processor. Tarseek receives a payment result, token, or reference rather than storing raw card details. Tarseek does not store full card number, CVV, or equivalent sensitive authentication data. Tarseek may receive processor customer IDs, payment IDs, status, last four digits, card brand, and billing information the processor provides.

5. Model pricing

Prices may differ by Model, provider, Input, Output, cached tokens, image generation, audio, video, compute, requests, or other provider billing units. Rates may change. Current rates are shown in the catalog, dashboard, or API usage objects—not frozen in this document.

6. Metering

Billable Usage may be based on Tarseek’s metering, provider-reported usage, token counts, provider billing units, or actual processed usage. If those sources differ, Tarseek may use a reasonably determined amount and, where it verifies its own billing error, make an adjustment.

7. Failed, interrupted, and disconnected requests

There is no rule that “no final answer means no charge.” A provider may have already consumed tokens or compute.

  • If a request fails before billable processing begins, Model Usage should generally not be charged.
  • If processing already occurred, applicable Usage may be charged.
  • Interrupted streams may still incur charges.
  • Network disconnections do not necessarily make prior provider processing free.
  • Verified Tarseek billing errors may receive adjustments.

8. Refunds

Except where required by applicable law:

  • unused Purchased Credits may be refunded at Tarseek’s reasonable discretion;
  • the Platform Fee is refundable only if Tarseek states so at purchase or law requires it;
  • duplicate charges and verified billing errors will be corrected;
  • fraudulent purchases and chargebacks may be denied and may lead to suspension;
  • Promotional Credits are generally not refundable for cash;
  • remaining Credits on account closure are not cashed out except where law requires otherwise.

Mandatory consumer rights are preserved.

9. Expiration

Purchased Credits do not expire unless Tarseek states a different rule at purchase. Promotional Credits may expire under the Promotional Credit Terms.

10. Auto recharge

If Tarseek offers auto recharge, it will require explicit user authorization, display thresholds, and allow opt-out. Unauthorized auto recharge is not permitted.

11. Taxes

Fees may be exclusive of applicable sales, VAT, GST, or similar taxes. You are responsible for taxes associated with your purchases except taxes on Tarseek’s net income.

12. Chargebacks

Chargebacks may trigger investigation, suspension, Credit reversal, and collection of unpaid amounts. Friendly fraud or abuse of the payment network may result in permanent account closure.
